Just a fact.

  1. Thats not much more than we are paying in Australia with conversion between lbs/kgs and AUD/USD. Just the way of the world now with corporate greed realising they can charge more since COVID and still sell the same amount.

  2. FinTimes :

US beef prices extend surge as ranchers face thinnest herds in 70 years
A years-long drought in the American west has dried up grazing lands and created a shortage of calves

  3. The St Louis Fed has a beef price tracker (all beef steaks https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000FC3101) and its been over $10.00 a pound since May 2023.

The pictured item being a boneless 100 ounce ribeye steak for $15.99 a pound, unfortunately, checks out as normal pricing now.

I just checked Instacart for my local Costco in WA state and USDA Choice Boneless Ribeye is $19.99 a pound – so the pictured item would be $120+ out here. lol, the $100 is a good price!

  4. 16.00 a pound for Choice Rib Eye is no deal. Now, if it were certified Black Angus marked as such and not just marked Black Angus, it would be in the ballpark. The other factor is where on the lion are the cuts from this 109 whole rib that were taken from. And yes, it makes a difference in quality and taste from both an internal and external marbling of fat.
