AI is unreliable in the same way IP is.
But we build reliable systems (like the internet) on unreliable tech all the time.
We just need to recognize the need to roll up our sleeves and do the hard engineering work. -
I was a subscriber to Ted Gioia (on Substack) for a couple of years but finally cancelled that because I got tired of his tabloidesque (Is that a word? Should it be?) constant hysteria and his bitching that there is no good new music – which is nonsense. I’m 78 years old and finding a wealth of astonishingly good music.
I even tried to reach out to him here in Austin to help with a computer problem he was having that I could have fixed easily. He never had the decency to even respond.
I think he just likes to hear himself complain or, more likely, he is following a long tradition of “if it bleeds, it leads.”
